Thompson is having the Rainbow Babies Charity race I think on Sunday, you'd have to verify that on their site...

Like Toot posted above, the race was rained out and rescheduled for this Sunday. Gates open at 9. Dad and I have been there the last two or three years. It's a busy day, but is for a good cause. I'd rather give to the Children's Hospital and Jim Curtis than Dan Swindell any day of the week. I gotta change my waterpump and check my alternator bracket out. I should be able to get it ready pretty easily for Sunday morning. If it's nice and Dad wants to go, that's where I'd like to go for the last race of my year. Then onto planning for next year....

Yes sir....

Donate to the crook Dan Swindell, or donate to the Children's Hospital??

Besides, Thompson will be hookin' and Quaker not so much.

Since Quaker City has been mentioned a few times in this thread, I thought I'd pass along some info. I've been talking with a long time Quaker racer who's finger is on the pulse of Quaker, and he's saying there are 3-4 folks showing up at the auction with certified money backing them to buy the place and keep it as a drag strip. So there is hope to keep the place as another place to race. Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope the new owner is a former racer that knows what it takes to run a track.

Let's keep our fingers crossed, there are few of us that live close to Salem but would rather drive an hour to do some time trails than set in the staging lanes for hours.
