PostSubject: Anyone have winter plans???   November 15th 2010, 7:17 pm

Anyone have any plans to go faster next year?

I'm switching to a wider rearend housing, axles, and smaller tires. Gonna add some wheelie bars, four link, wishbone, anti-rollbar, shocks and finish a few other things up. Gonna install my 10 lb fire system, and pick up some nitrous bottles. Gonna ditch the alternator and add another battery...

If every thing goes well, maybe some fresh paint, and a few passes in Outlaw Limited Street at Thompson & Milan.

Oh, I'm gonna get my NHRA license too, hehe!

Four link, anti-rollbar, and wishbone are on the way from Applied Race Technology. Should be here next week! Gonna order some wheelie bars from them too in a few weeks after I get the rear suspension all swapped over.

We plan on being pritty fast we have a 60 over 340 with 16:1 compression with harland sharp rockers and a custom grind cam! The heads are also ported and flowed to their max! We took the front and back windows out and there being replaced with lighter stuff. We also might get some disc breaks! The car should be about 2600 pounds next year!

Anyone know of a good compound or just a good slick over all? We are worried that we might not hook up with this new 600 plus horse power motor! I also know that they go by the weight of the car for the compounds! The car should be around 2600 to 2650

That's the tire that dad has run for the last two years. I will be running them this year as well. Works better on his car than a 13.5 Mickey Thompson. With good sidewalls he's been in the 1.18 60's I believe, 5.0x's in the 1/8 and 7.94 in the 1/4.

We've put over 1000 hp N/A plus some nitrous down to the ground with this tire at weights from 2900 to 3100 lbs.

I ran a 33x10.5x15 Hoosier with the C11 compound this summer (probably 3150 or 3200 lbs) with good results. I went 1.30, 5.72, 8.93 with them. With wheelie bars or better tuned rear suspension it would 60' better than that, and will this summer with the smaller tires.

We've had really good luck with Hoosier slicks the last few years. Started off with Mickey Thompsons, made the switch to Hoosier, and never looked back. I went 10.52 @ 1.29 with my 468 and the MT 29.5x10.5x15. They're all comparable, but we have good luck with the Hoosiers and the higher power levels.

Skip was selling some nice Vette parts at the meeting today to fund his Monza upgrades, what a coincidence.
