Does anyone know of a type of transmission that is a manual (4,5,6 speed) doesnt matter. That can handle like 400 horse and fit in a Monte Carlo? thanks ryan

i looked at the t56 but not sure that it would fit in my car or mount to my motor

they make GForce manual transmissions but they are alot of money! If you look around you can probley get something out of another car that could work.

I know that but the clearance on on the 5 and 6 speed of the bellhousing would hit my firewall

Assuming we're talking about a '78-88 Monte Carlo, these cars could be ordered with 3 and 4-speeds thus parts are readily available. A Muncie, Saginaw, or Richmond/BW T-10 will all fit within the confines of the tunnel and etc, as well as using the same mounting point as a TH350.

Some Olds Cutlass' were available with a BW T-50 5-speed. I'm not sure how much power they will handle, but it is also a bolt in piece for these cars.

There is a ton of information on the net about swapping manuals into these cars. With the right part numbers, you may be able to buy most of the needed pieces at your local part store as well.
